It is Good
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1)
I am not called to be good enough. “Good enough” is not a qualifier God uses to describe His creation. “It is good,” He says of the light, the waters, the land, the trees, the stars, and all the creatures of the earth. “It is very good,” He says of me, of you, of every human person He has created or will create.
We are made in His image and likeness. We are the pinnacle of creation.
And we are fallen. Yet our fallen nature is not our identity. We are His. And so we place our fallenness in His Sacred Hands, we show Him our wounds and He shows us His, and in this exchange is indescribable love, immeasurable healing.
We are broken, our hearts battered by the storms of the world and all its charms. And so we place our broken Hearts in His, to be fortified, purified, and fused in that furnace of divine love. But it is not for us to give Him our hearts and then remain as we are; when we give Him our hearts we must run to Him, that where our hearts are, we also may be.
He is our treasure, and He is our joy. Let us run to Him.
